Today, It's All About DAD!

Here are some goodies that my Dad would like.

My Dad loves football and he likes a good beer too, so this Quilted Football Beer Cozy, by pandys, would be right up his alley.



My dad spent years restoring a 1920's Model A Ford. This car looks like it may be from the same era. He also loved driving Route 66 on his trip out West. So, I think that he would enjoy this piece of artwork by ljdesignphoto.


My dad also loves the woods. And where I grew up in Maine, there are plenty of woods to be had. This "Ah Man, I'm Lost" Compass, by luv4sams, would be a great gift as well. I remember my dad teaching me how to read a compass as a little girl.

Yippee!

We had a thunderstorm last night. The humidity is gone, the oppressive heat is gone. My windows are open and the AC is off. I have fresh air blowing all through the house and it's delightful.

I thought I'd sew for 30 minutes this morning. I am making a pair of boy's denim shorts and need 1" elastic. I have every size BUT 1" elastic. So, I started to work on another tote bag. I need heavy duty fusible interfacing to give the bag some stability. I am 6 inches short. Guess I'm heading to the store today after all.

But, in the next day or so, there will be new shorts and a new tote bag in both pandys and GriffinGear...stay tuned!

Create your own reversible apron (for little one)

After days of playing with material and persuaded my daughter to agree to be the model, finally, today, I made my create your own reversible apron on my store. I like to do mix and match product, I mean that's what I always do when I helped my husband to create new product for his business. It's been my dream to do something like this....create your own item...

The main idea of this item is that, you choose the fabric and size you like, and I will make it for you. For more personalized touch, that's why I put 7 design of fabric that will be use for the exterior pocket, it used to give a statement of person who wears the apron.

I've been hunted cute children fabric everywhere I go, but until yesterday, it's just sitting in my fabric boxes.I only be able taking picture for girl apron, the boy model (my best friend's son) was not available today, they went on family vacation until sometimes next week. So for the moment, you can only see sample of apron for girl, but I hope, soon, I can be able to submit, also, picture of boy apron.

Remember the old tv series "Little House on The Priarie"? This bag is inspired by the medical case of Dr.Baker. I like a very simple bag, easy to use and most important, the bag which can stay upright itself when I put it on the floor or table, and this is the one. and with the tubular frame, I do not need to bother to open and close any zipper anymore.

I attached a snap hook inside so it will be easier for those who need to look for their key quick and easy.

I named this bag with my mom's name, Fidela. When I show it to her, she loves it so much...she said she always want to have a bag like that...so in the honor of her...this bag is called FIDELA BAG....

Quilted Fabric Crib Rail Guard Protectors

Do you have a teething babe or know someone who does? This might be just what you need. This guard is made with soft flannel fabric and quilted on the diagonal. For extra softness, there are two layers of batting for extra padding. There are 5 buttons to secure the guard to the crib rail. Your little one won't be able to tear this one down!

Dimensions are approximately 51 inches long (for a 50 inch crib) and 9 inches wide. This should guard is designed to fit a standard straight crib rail with a top rail up to 2.5 inches in height. If your rail is extra wide or long, you should go with a custom order. (See below.)
Buttons are located at 3.5, 14.25, 25, 37.75, and 46.5 inches.

On a personal note, the crib rail guards that are in our nursery have worked great! My little guy now teethes on a soft padded fabric guard instead of wood. I no longer worry about splinters or him swallowing chips of wood.
