My ETSYShop...FINALLY OPEN!!!

My ETSYShop finally open!!!

There was a sudden change of my mom 'FENG SHUI' date, she asked me to open it today or to wait for another while. Fortunately, the weather is cooperative this afternoon. After a long wintry weather, today we have the sun stay up bright until 8 PM. I spent the whole night to speed up finishing my shop and prepare for its first public appearance.

I began my shop with 3 items, 2 of them are set of bags for mother and daughter (I made those bags for Mother's Day). The theme of my first launching bags are SAKURA FLOWS. I love Sakura, and I happened to buy a very beautiful and delicate double gauze cotton with sakura image from Japan. There are more bags on the way to my stores, just wait for them.

Last minute birthday present....

We had been invited for Yolanda birthday last Sunday, but we did not know about it until Saturday afternoon, one day before. As you might know, in Switzerland, stores closed at 5 PM on Saturday and for entire day on Sunday. I basically had no time to buy anything by the time I received the invitation, I can not just come up with a box of chocolate since Yolanda is the god grandma of Sebastien (mother of Sebastien god parents). I tried to check my sewing room, and I found this beautiful Japanese Chirimen fabric. I think a vintage purse can be a great present for her - easy to use and take with in her handbag. Besides, I still have 1 purse claps that I bought from internet not long before. Using the same pattern that I used to make my vintage purse after an hour or so, I come up with this elegant vintage purse. Another great thing that I realized is that the peony flower on the fabric. We, asian, love the peony to be used as the theme for birthday cause it symbolizes good fortune.

New Cards and a Fabulous new Card Cozy!

This week I designed new business cards that include all my new web addresses. I've had ideas turning around in my head for a while, but I just haven't had the time to sit down and get it done. It's really bad when someone asked you for one and you don't have anything to give them.

I had some wonderful online help from my fellow artisans of FAM. What a wonderful group and all so talented.

To go along with my new cards I needed something to hold and protect them in my purse. With so many options out there it wasn't easy to decide, but I knew I wanted something homemade, easy to use, and fun.

I found the perfect card holder in Andrea Baker's etsy shop, a fellow FAM. Her business card cozies are great and you can custom order them so that you get something that matches your personality. They also hold around 40 standard cards and fit nicely even in a small purse. She hand makes each one and the quality of her work is fabulous. I couldn't be happier. Thanks so much Andrea!
